What is Kybella?
While liposuction has been used routinely for addressing double chin in adult men and women, there’s now another approach for our patients to consider. Kybella is an injectable that is administered directly into the neck area. It is formulated with an ingredient called deoxycholic acid. This synthetic ingredient destroys fat cells where it is injected by naturally breaking them down. The fat membranes in the area are destroyed and absorbed into the body. The results are gradual and natural, and eliminate the need for surgical treatment. Kybella has also been approved by the FDA, and is one of the few injectables on the market today that can successfully reduce fat in the chin and neck area.
Is Kybella right for me?
Many patients who deal with a double chin will want to take the time to speak to our team about their options. While more severe, significant areas of fat in the chin may still benefit greatly from plastic surgery, many patients with mild to moderate fat accumulation in the area might find Kybella to be a wonderful option for them. How many treatments do I need?

The number of treatments needed for a specific patient will range dramatically depending on the severity of the fat accumulation and their body’s natural response to the injections. Most patients see visible results within 2-4 treatments, though up to 6 treatment sessions may be required depending on various factors.
