Instead, we provide a less invasive alternative for lip enhancement which uses cosmetic injectables to add volume right where it is needed. Dr. Wayne P. Foster and his team utilize popular injectable fillers such as Restylane and Juvéderm, which use hyaluronic acid and a gel-like consistency to gently add volume to the lips where needed. These injectables are commonly used for fine lines and wrinkles of the face and are also used for lip rejuvenation as well. The results are subtle and natural-looking, though noticeable the minute patients leave the office.
How long does lip enhancement last?
Cosmetic injectables fillers such as Restylane and Juvéderm will typically last several months before the body naturally absorbs them. This means that in order for patients to maintain their results, they will need to schedule routine injections every 4-6 months. If patients are considering more permanent options, they may be better suited for lip enhancement with lip implants. How do I care for my lips after my appointment?
Patients should be careful not to manipulate the lip area for approximately 24 hours after their injections to let the gel settle into the lips. Avoid the use of straws and choose foods that don’t require the mouth to open wide, such as burgers. Bruising can occur at the injection site and be present for up to a week, but will resolve on its own.
