Why lip enhancement?
Due to genetics, some men and women may have thin lips that lack volume and appear thin and ill-defined. When patients visit the practice of Dr. Wayne P. Foster, they are introduced to solutions that can be used to achieve desirable results. Instead of surgical intervention to change the shape of the upper and lower lip, patients can ask about injectables. Using injectable gels such as Juvéderm and Restylane, our provider can augment the lips to increase size and ensure proper shape and balance.
What can I expect from my lip enhancement procedure?
First, patients need to consult with our team to determine if they are a good fit for lip enhancement procedures. Dr. Wayne P. Foster will evaluate the patient and show them before and after photos to help them visualize what can be done. Once patients decide to move forward with lip augmentation, they will have a topical numbing cream applied to the mouth and left for approximately 15 minutes until it has activated. Then, the filler of choice is injected into the upper and/or lower lip to achieve the desired results. Patients will notice swelling and discomfort in the first two days after their injections, but this will subside on its own. Patients can enjoy the results for several months before reinjection is needed.
