If you’ve been dreaming about getting rhinoplasty (also called a nose job), then what’s keeping you from making that appointment? Sometimes, it might take a little while to save up the cash. Other times, you just want to be sure of the doctor who will help you make that change. We completely understand, and want you to feel 100% confident in our team when you walk into our office.
Are you ready to learn more about rhinoplasty? Keep reading for some of our patient’s best questions they’ve asked about rhinoplasty.
When is a good time to get rhinoplasty?
Because the results of rhinoplasty can take a while to show, we don’t recommend getting a rhinoplasty too soon before an important day (like a wedding). Generally speaking, ninety percent of swelling is gone from two weeks to a few months after your procedure. Ask your provider since your specific rhinoplasty may recover faster if your needs are less than the average case.
What is the Recovery Time?
After your procedure, you will have a cast and packing in your nostrils. That means you’ll be breathing out of your mouth for a little while! After about a week, we will remove your cast and packing, and check to see how you’re healing. You will likely be swollen and may have a black eye or two. This is totally normal! Most of your swelling will be gone betwen two weeks and a month or two after your procedure. You will still need to be careful with your nose, and may be asked to avoid vigorous activity for a month or so after your procedure.
What is filler rhinoplasty?
Some concerns can be treated with dermal fillers. Reshaping the bridge of the nose or changing the angle of your nasal tip may be achieved with dermal fillers. If you have larger concerns that require shrinking parts of the nose, then traditional rhinoplasty will be the best option.
