What is Emsculpt?

Emsculpt is an FDA-cleared protocol that is designed to melt away fat while simultaneously toning underlying muscle. This dual effect stems from the penetration of High-Intensity Focused Electromagnetic technology into deep muscle and subcutaneous fat.

Candidates for Emsculpt

Ideal candidates for emsculpt are adults who are in generally good health and who are near their ideal weight. The treatment is well-suited for individuals who live a balanced lifestyle but have not attained the level of muscle-tone they desire. Emsculpt is not appropriate for people who:

• Have a substantial amount of subcutaneous fat or who wish to lose a significant amount of weight.
• Have a pacemaker, cardiac defibrillator, or other metal implant.
• Are pregnant or nursing.
• Have a hernia, cardiac problem, or a history of seizures.

What areas can be treated with Emsculpt?

The FDA cleared the emsculpt device for muscle toning and fat reduction in the buttocks. However, additional treatment areas have become popular. These include the abdomen, thighs, biceps, triceps, and Calves.
According to clinical studies, this treatment can also improve diastasis recti. This separation of the abdominal muscles may occur during pregnancy due to the increased size of the abdomen to accommodate a growing fetus. How does Emsculpt work?

The power of emsculpt lies in the muscle contractions the device induces using High-Intensity Focused Electromagnetic technologies. The electromagnetic energy emitted during each short treatment causes muscle contractions in the deep layer of tissue; and not just a few. Studies indicate that the strength of muscle contractions during a 30-minute session equates to about 20,000 squats. This results in tissue remodeling that increases muscle mass. At the same time, the energy also disrupts fat cells. Increased fat-burning triggers cell death and subsequent elimination through the lymphatic system.

How many treatments you May be needed

The clinical studies that were conducted during the developmental state of treatment suggest that an initial series of 4 treatment sessions (2 treatments a week for 2 weeks) resulted in noticeable tightening and lifting of the buttocks or abdomen. It is for this reason that emsculpt is ideal for individuals who are at or near their ideal weight.

How long your results will last

The fat-reduction results achieved with emsculpt can last indefinitely. The key is to maintain body weight with healthy eating and exercise habits. Fat cells destroyed during treatment do not come back, nor does the body grow new fat cells. However, the remaining fat cells can enlarge to a point where body shape changes. Is Emsculpt painful?

Patients sometimes laugh in response to the initial stimulation of emsculpt muscle contractions. This indicates that treatment is not painful but may feel strange at first. The thinner a patient is at the time of treatment, the more intensely they may feel the effects of focused energy. If necessary, the strength of energy output can be adjusted.

Is there any downtime after the procedure?

No. Patients are able to resume normal activities right away after their treatment.
