Eyebrow & Forehead Lift in NJ

Excess skin hanging from the eyelid may be caused in part by drooping of the eyebrow. Often, surgery for sagging eyebrows is combined with eyelid surgery to rejuvenate the upper third of the face.

Drooping of the outer eyebrows is one of the first signs of aging. This results in the eyelids pushing downward and overlapping the eyelashes. Although the individual may not feel tired or sad, the eyes appear as such. Women have difficulty maintaining eyeliner and mascara as it usually ends up on the lid shortly after being applied. The area between the eyes may droop producing a frowning, angry-looking scowl. Correcting the underlying muscular cause and elevating the brow relieves the problem.

Brow Lift in NJ

Several surgical approaches are effective at correcting the drooping brow. Traditionally, the forehead lift has been performed using a coronal incision hidden above the hairline, at the hairline, or within a forehead wrinkle. This approach is very effective for specific patients.

Using the Endoscope allows brow elevation through small incisions above the hairline. This apporach is preferable in most, but not all cases.

These forehead lift and brow elevation techniques produce larger, more youthful looking eyes. Any crow’s feet along the edges of the eyes are improved by these procedures, but not eliminated. Chemical peels or laser skin resurfacing may augment these procedures.

Remember, excess skin of the eyelids is not corrected by a brow lift alone. Eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty) is frequently necessary to remove excess skin or bulging fat.
