Fall is here and soon comes winter, and all those winter parties. Whether you have family reunions, Friends-giving plans, or a fancy New Years Eve gala to attend, you’ll likely want to show yourself in the best light this season. For many of us a facial, laser treatment, or chemical peel helps us feel ready to see people we don’t get to socialize with very much. For others, it’s not the skin that is the issue. Extra wrinkles and sagging skin can make us feel less than ready for a party, but we can help with that! Keep reading to learn about the facelift procedure and what it can do for you.
Who is a good candidate for a facelift?
As we age, wrinkles become more a part of our lives. Permanent wrinkles that remain when we’re not moving our faces are more deeply etched into the face. We also seem to have more sagging in the skin, and you might find creases under the eyes or “marionette lines” near your nose and mouth.
Facelift surgery can help treat the signs of aging with more long-lasting results than short-term treatments like Botox or fillers. Though a facelift is not going to prevent you from aging anymore, a facelift can help your complexion, and you will likely keep looking younger than if you’d never had a facelift.
If you are bothered by sagging skin or deep wrinkles in the face and neck area, then a facelift might be a good option for you.
When Can I Start Exercising Again After Surgery?
Abstaining from exercise can help you get the best results from your facelift. We typically recommend that you check in with us before you resume exercise, but expect around three weeks before you go back to the gym.
Will I Have Facelift Scarring?
There are always scars when the surface of skin is cut or damaged, but Dr. Foster is very skilled in minimizing and hiding the scars that usually result from a facelift. The goal is to keep the scars so small and faint that they fade into a small, natural-looking crease or are not noticeable at all.
