Trends in Facial Plastic Surgery: Surgical vs. Non-surgical
- Posted on: Jul 15 2018
It seems that there’s always something new on the horizon when it comes to plastic surgery. We love reading about the newest lasers and treatments, because that means we have more options to help give you what you’re looking for.
Lately, we’ve been noticing one very big trend: more and more patients are opting for non-surgical procedures to give them the results they’re craving. In our hyper-busy world, it’s getting harder to find two weeks to take off of work for a procedure. That’s especially true when you know you need to save some of your paid time off for a little beach vacation. We love that you don’t have to choose any more. You can have your procedures without the hassle.
Keep reading for the highlights of what is going on in plastic surgery right now.
Lunchtime Treatments
People are more often selecting procedures that give them great results, without the extensive time off work. For many patients, that means fillers. Cutting down on recovery time means you get to sculpt those cheekbones and show them off much sooner.
Fillers have gotten much more tailored to specific parts of the body, too. If you want fuller lips, we can select a softer filler that allows a little more “give,” just like your real lips. Those cheekbones we mentioned? You’ll probably want a more firm filler to mimic the sharp cheekbones of our favorite models and actors.
Younger Patients
It’s no joke: social media is changing the world and how we see ourselves. Selfies allow us to show off our best selves, and younger people are taking note. Why not just tweak your nose or cheeks a little bit to show the world yourself in all of your confidence?
Aside from selfie culture, younger patients are also opting for more minimally invasive procedures now to prevent larger ones in the future. Yes, they are preventing wrinkles instead of treating them later on. Botox injected in high-risk areas can help prevent wrinkles down the road, and laser treatments can encourage collagen production to stay steady. A few smaller non-surgical treatments now can prevent surgeries later on, which is something we can get on board with.
